Pallid Harrier, a species new to Northern Ireland

On the 26th April 2011, a Pallid Harrier (Circus macrourus) was photographed at Slemish Mountain, Co Antrim by Bill Guiller and Gavin Ferguson. The bird was initially presumed to be a Hen Harrier. However a number of people, including Owen Foley (the finder of Ireland's first Pallid Harrier) re-identified it.
