Pacific Diver - A species new to Northern Ireland
On
the 19th January 2014, whilst out walking along the shores of Lough
Fea, Cookstown, Co Tyrone, Elaine Warnock
spotted a Diver species swimming and diving on the water. She took some
photos
and passed them to a friend who immediately identified them as a
Pacific Diver. The bird was last seen on the 23rd February 2014 with
rumours that it had subsequently swallowed a fishing hook.
